Q. Why should I quit?
A. We aren't here to convince you to quit, since you are here you have most likely already made your decision to start quitting. There are many health benefits to quitting smoking, the important benefits are that you will live longer and that by quitting you are decreasing the chances of having a heart attack, stroke or lung cancer. You will also have money to spend on things other than cigarettes.
Q. What is the best way to quit smoking?
A. Unfortunately there is no absolute best way for everyone, the best way to quit is the way that works for you. The process of quitting usually goes something similar to: you attempt to quit, you start smoking again, you re-evaluate your strategy then eventually go on to successfully quit smoking forever.
Some people quit through sheer determination and can quit cold turkey. Others need classes, drugs, therapy and various other nicotine products. Whichever solution works for you and is safe you should consider and utilize.
Q. How will I feel when I quit smoking?
A. Your body will be lacking the required nicotine that it needs to function normally, there will be cravings for nicotine and depending on which solution you use to help you quit smoking will depend on how bad these cravings are. Many smokers will gain some weight when quitting but it is usually less than 4 kilos. It is important to eat a healthy diet, stay active and not let the weight gain distract you from your goal - to quit smoking.
Q. What kind of activities can I do when I feel the urge to smoke?
A. The easiest way to distract yourself from the urge to smoke is to keep yourself active as much as possible. Go for walks, drink plenty of water and reduce the stress by taking a bath, exercising or reading a book.
Q. I've tried to quit before but it didn't work, what can I do?
A. The reason that you didn't quit the first, second or even third time was because you didn't do the top 10 ways to quit smoking or the way that you attempted to quit wasn't suitable for you or your lifestyle.
